Magpie / Thrasher (Damian Wayne)

Appearance + Pings

Appearance: Definitely short for his age, but he's a surprisingly muscular little guy—wiry as opposed to bulky. Fair-skinned, but ethnically ambiguous if you take a closer look. (Canon parents are White and Chinese/Arabic). He tries to keep his hair styled, but by the end of most days it's a little unruly. Grassy green eyes.

Fashion-wise he prefers loose fitting clothing—jeans and t-shirts or hoodies, baggy cargo shorts, etc. He doesn't wear ton of jewelry, but typically has at least 1 or 2 bracelets and a necklace on. Usually the jewelry has some kind of feather charm, but it may be a plain leather cord or silver/gold chain.

Pings: At the moment, none aside from having the 3 AU powers. This will change when he remembers dying (if your character can sense that) and again when he remembers getting resurrected with chaos magic.

Powers

As The Crow Flies
Able to shapeshift either fully or partially into a bird. While fully shifted, his strength is actually minimal. As a full bird he can fly quickly and has heightened senses, but his stamina and strength are much lower than they would be if he only shifted a pair of wings or bird legs.

Leave A Mark
Able to draw sigils in his own blood which can be used in combat. He has the option of triggering a sigil immediately, or using it as a trap that can be triggered later by stepping on or touching it. Limited to simple drawings, so the sigil options are piercing or blunt damage, and small bullet-sized missiles or a single large object (relative to the size of the sigil drawn).

Birds of a Feather
Capable of generating between 1-5 shields capable of protecting 1 person each. The more shields he has active, the weaker they become since the protection is divided further. Each shield looks like a giant disembodied bird wing.

Nom de Plumes:

• Magpie: The name he uses most frequently. This is what he goes by when he's out in the law-abiding public; what he'll introduce himself as to new people he meets.
• Thrasher: His skateboarding name! It's a term for the gnarliest skaters and he's very proud of it.
• hypoleuca: His online/gaming handle. It's part of the scientific name for his favorite magpie.

Background:
Magpie's father has never been in the picture, and his mother is the rich owner of a respectable hotel chain. She loves him and puts effort into supporting him, but she's a workaholic who is frequently away at the office/on business trips. Over the years she's hired a series of caretakers to look after him when she's not available, but even her best efforts couldn't keep him from getting resentful about missing his mom all the time.

Around age 10 he opted to start acting out by skipping school and doing what he wanted instead of his lame-o mom thought was best. And what he wanted to do was become the most awesome skateboarder in the world. He met Heron who taught him a lot of the basics and got him into graffiti and street art, and he was thrilled to have a new friend and mentor! And then he noticed his mentor doing shit like sleeping on benches and even less bed-like places, sussed out that he was living on the streets, and promptly wrote a business-like proposal to his mother arguing about why they should adopt this semi-feral teen. And his mom eventually agreed (after looking into the situation properly). He's very fond of his brother and still hangs out with him often.

Pre-boat, he attended the high school in Manteau City (skipped 2 grades to get there), but frequently skipped classes to go out skating, or putting up illegal street art, or stealing pets out of bad situations. He spent a lot of time at the cat cafe and skate parks, and frequently could be spotted at local music and art shows, street fairs, etc. Occasionally in police holding when he got picked up for petty crimes.
